J-1 & J-2 Visa
A Queens College (QC) faculty member will need to contact the QC International Students & Scholars Office to request an application to host a professor, researcher or student for a specific program of study or work at Queens College.
The J Visa is a State Department document, issued only at the U.S.Consulate in the applicant's home country.
The J-1 Visa is needed to legally enter the U.S. for the purpose of teaching, conducting, research or engaging in a special program at the College.
It is mandatory that all J-1 Scholars and J-2 Dependents enroll in a J-1 health insurance program.
It is also required that all J-1's and J-2's report to the Queens College International Students and Scholars Office within 2-5 days of their U.S. entry date.
